Cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase inhibitor.
Selective agonist to PPARγ (peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors).
Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-α (PPARα) agonist.
Tegafur is a prodrug that is gradually converted to fluorouracil in the liver by the cytochrome P-450 enzyme.
Ciprofloxacin is a synthetic broad spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It binds to and inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase, an enzyme essential for DNA replication. This agent is more active against Gram-negative bacteria than Gram-positive bacteria.
Levofloxacin is a broad-spectrum, third-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic and optically active L-isomer of ofloxacin with antibacterial activity. Levofloxacin diffuses through the bacterial cell wall and acts by inhibiting DNA gyrase (bacterial topoisomerase II), an enzyme required for DNA replication, RNA tranion, and repair of bacterial DNA. Inhibition of DNA gyrase activity leads to blockage of bacterial cell growth.
5-Fluorouracil is a pyrimidine analog that is an antineoplastic antimetabolite. It interferes with DNA synthesis by blocking the thymidylate synthetase conversion of deoxyuridylic acid to thymidylic acid.
