Actions | (-)-Parthenolide is a sesquiterpene lactone and active principle of Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium). It has a role as a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, a non-narcotic analgesic, a peripheral nervous system drug and an inhibitor. (-)-Parthenolide, an inhibitor of the Nuclear Factor-κB Pathway, specifically depletes HDAC1 protein without affecting other class I/II HDACs; Also promotes the ubiquitination of MDM2 and activates p53 cellular functions. |
Application | Parthenolide has been used in trials studying the diagnostic of Allergic Contact Dermatitis. |
