Actions | Novobiocin is an aminocoumarin antibiotic that was produced by the actinomycete Streptomyces niveus. Novobiocin binds to DNA gyrase, and blocks adenosine triphosphatase (ATPase) activity. Other antibiotics in the aminocoumarin class include coumermycin A1 and clorobiocin. |
