l Physical and Chemical Information |
Appearance | Faint Beige to Beige to Brown lyophilized powder |
l Biological Information |
Biochem/Physiol Actions | Hyaluronidase degrades hyaluronan and has been found to be inappropriately regulated during cancer progression. These enzymes randomly cleave β-N-acetylhexosamine-[1→4] glycosidic bonds in hyaluronic acid, chondroitin, and chondroitin sulfates. |
Application | Hyaluronidase from bovine testes has been used for the digestion of breast tissue, heart tissue and oocytes for isolation of cells. |
Preparation Note | This enzyme is soluble in 0.02 M phosphate buffer, pH 7, with 77 mM sodium chloride and 0.01% BSA at 1 mg/ml, yielding a clear solution. |
Unit Definition | One unit will cause a change in % transmittance at 600 nm of 0.330 per minute at pH 5.35 at 37 °C in a 2.0 mL reaction mixture (45 minute assay). |
l Storage |
Storage temp. | -20°C |
