l General Information |
Product Name | Nucleoside Phosphorylase bacterial |
Synonym | PNP, Purine nucleoside phosphorylase, Purine nucleoside:orthophosphate ribosyltransferase |
Assay | ≥10 units/mg protein; ≥80% protein basis (biuret); recombinant, expressed in E. coli |
CAS Number | 9030-21-1 | MDL number | MFCD00131739 |
Suitability | BioReagent |
l Physical and Chemical Information |
Appearance | Lyophilized Powder |
l Biological Information |
Biochem/Physiol Actions | Catalyzes the following reaction: purine nucleoside + phosphate = purine + alpha-D-ribose 1-phosphate |
Application | Nucleoside phosphorylase is used in coupled enzyme systems to measure protein dephosphorylation. Bacterial nucleoside phosphorylase has been used in a study that identified and characterized two adenosine phosphorylase activities in Mycobacterium smegmatis. Bacterial nucleoside phosphorylase has also been used in a study to investigate the inhibitionof pyrimidine and purine nucleoside phosphorylases by a 3,5-dichlorobenzoyl-substituted 2-deoxy-D-ribose-1-phosphate derivative. |
Preparation Note | This is a salt-free and animal component-free enzyme preparation. This enzyme should be solubilized in a 10mM KPO4, pH 7.4 solution. |
l Storage |
Storage temp. | -20°C |
