l General Information |
Product Name | Sarcosine Oxidase from Bacillus sp. |
General deion | Monomeric sarcosine oxidase (MSOX) is a flavoenzyme that catalyzes the oxidative demethylation of sarcosine (N-methylglycine) to yield glycine, formaldehyde, and hydrogen peroxide. Monomeric sarcosine oxidase can oxidize other secondary amino acids such as N-methyl-L-alanine, N-ethylglycine, and L-proline. |
Synonym | Sarcosine: oxygen oxidoreductase (demethylating) |
Assay | 25-50 units/mg solid |
CAS Number | 9029-22-5 | MDL number | MFCD00132221 |
Suitability | BioReagent |
l Physical and Chemical Information |
Appearance | lyophilized powder |
Physical form | No stabilizers added |
l Biological Information |
Application | Sarcosine oxidase has been used in a study as part of a multienzyme cascade, that when immobilized constructed amperometric biosensors.Sarcosine oxidase has also been used in a study to investigate oxidation of amines by flavoproteins. |
